Privacy policy

Fairsail does not collect your personal information. There is no account, no Fairsail server holding your data, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Your books stay on your device unless you save a backup yourself.
This policy explains how Fairsail (“we”) handles information.
Information on your device
Statements, spreadsheets and screenshots you import are read on your device. Fairsail keeps only the transactions and figures it extracts, along with your categories, rules, budgets, goals and settings (“your books”). Your books are stored in the app’s private storage on your device. On iPhone, a copy is also kept as “Fairsail.json” in Files › On My iPhone › Fairsail. Your device’s own backup (for example iCloud Backup or Google backup) may include them, according to your device settings. We never receive them.
Backups and exports
Backups and exports are created only when you choose, and saved where you choose, such as iCloud Drive, Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, email or a folder. Those services handle the file under their own privacy policies. You can lock backups with a passphrase so they are encrypted on your device before they are saved.
Permissions
On iPhone and Android, Fairsail may ask to use your photos or camera, only so you can choose screenshots or photos of statements to import. Face ID, Touch ID and fingerprint unlock are handled by your device; Fairsail never sees biometric data.
The website
When you use Fairsail on the web, the website only delivers the app. Fairsail does not use cookies, analytics or advertising on it. Like any website, our hosting provider may process standard technical information (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver and protect the site, under its own privacy policy. Your books are kept in your browser’s storage on your device and are not sent to the website.
Sharing
We do not sell, rent or share personal information, because we do not have any. If you share a backup or export with someone, that is between you and them.
Your choices and rights
Because your information stays with you, you control it directly: you can view, correct, export (Profile › Backup & data › Export) or erase it (Backup & data › Erase this device) at any time, and delete any backup files yourself. Children
Fairsail is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date above changes. Material changes will be shown in the app.
